I finally joined. It somehow figured out that I could be friends with someone at the university I was last employed at in 2004. Bizzare and exactly why I haven't wanted to join - I don't like feeding more information into the grid about me then I have to. But I got tired of missing what my son, daughter and husband were posting so I took the plunge. Let me know if you are on there and want to be friends. Already I can see that it is nothing like LJ and that I won't like it nearly as much.

BTW you are so right about it not being like LJ
even though a friend of mine believes there is no
difference.

Date: 2013-01-07 12:18 am (UTC)How can anyone think it is like LJ? You can't, as far as I can tell, have a conversation like this. Much more importantly, there is no possibility of privacy. Here, I feel like I am home.

Her loss as she is so interested in so much that LJ offers.

Date: 2013-01-07 07:25 pm (UTC)I'm on there, largely for family and distant friends, but I have to admit there are communities over there I do have a lot of time for. And, yes, you can converse there easily (in fact I find conversation easier there, though that may be because of my limited concentration time (very young children do have that effect...)
