I'm clearing off my bedside table to make room for the Earthsea books. I just finished the first and am hurrying on to the next.

I finished re-reading "The Order of the Phoenix" a few days ago, and am re-reading the last few chapters of "The Half Blood Prince" I blew though it when it came out so now I'm getting the full story.

Ursula K. LeGuin is simply fabulous... I adore all her books. Had a dog named Tenar after the Earthsea books... LOL!

I will have to read more. I'm waiting for an excuse to go up to my local used book store and get the next in the series for 12 cents.

I also got a recommendation for Susan Cooper "The Dark is Rising" series. Looks intriguing, but already it is clear that Evil = black things - horses, clothes, whatever, while guess what?!?! Good = white things! It seems to me there is a real failure of imagination on this point.

I read Earthsea books YEARS ago and cannot remember them now, but know I loved tham at the time.

I have a long list too, and if you put it together with the ones I haven't read the first time, then it's a daunting list.

I picked up Dune again, and I'm not sure how far I'll get. Seems more ponderous than I remember.

I recently discovered that "than" and "then" are not interchangable because they mean two different things. How did this escape me for 47 years? **head desk**
