It's 60 degrees in New York
Nov. 29th, 2005 01:12 pmI rushed around to get my handwashing done today so I could hang it out. It has that fresh air smell, though its now inside to dry. I knew it would sprinkle all day, but I just had to get it out for a while.
My snapdragons are still pretending it's late summer. They are from seeds I saved when I moved from Ohio. The plants I took them from lasted two and three years, laughing at single digit temperatures. I planted them here in early fall, much later than I intended, and I figured I'd blown it. They put on a lot of green since then and have already shrugged off a few frosts.
We are hanging lights on ground level this year. I had the idea while I was out there to turn tomato cages upside down and cover them with lights. Hopefully they will look like little trees and not upside down tomato cages. And! I put them over my plants to keep them from the deer next spring. I also put out various other garden trellis things to hang with lights another day. I couldn't have dug them in without this weather.
**beams**
Am I supposed to be writing something?
**gets another cup of coffee**

Date: 2005-11-29 11:10 am (UTC)We do the very restrained *one string of white lights around a tree* thing - but then we're British and middle class, anything more and we'd die of embarassment! *g*
