Feb. 4th, 2008 10:18 amGiants win, Cheaters lose
What an incredible game!!! I was yelling at the TV for most of the 4th quarter. Eli Manning was amazingly cool under fire. He said the situation he was in - less than 2 minutes to get a touchdown at the end of a bruising game with the Superbowl on the line - was what a quarterback lives for. Incredible that he actually pulled together the drive and the winning pass with 34 seconds left.

The Giant's defense was perfect. They hunted Tom Brady all day, sacked him five times and otherwise kept him running and making mistakes. One of the defensive players said "I think we brought a level of physicality that they had not seen". Brady did seem surprised his protection kept shredding.

There are no words for this... you just have to see it.

It was USA Todays (and probably every one elses) best play of the game: "David Tyree's leaping 32-yard catch off an improbable throw from Manning on a third down on the game-winning drive is an instant classic. Manning escaped from three Patriots, wiggling free with Jarvis Green bearing down on him to launch the desperate heave heard around the world."
I am jealous that rugby fans seem to have all kinds of photos of players in very few clothes, but I don't think there are any of football players. Really too bad - I think there is some serious hotness under those helmets and encased in all that spandex.

Date: 2008-02-04 04:07 pm (UTC)I should say that my main reason, going into the game, for rooting for the Giants was a NYTimes human interest piece on the Manning family. Eli loves his mommy, and this makes me happy.
